Mr. Herman Franklin “Fuzz” Gibson, 91, of Buena Vista, GA, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019, at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Watson-Tante Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Fuller officiating. Burial will follow the service at Buena Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 17, 2019, from 6:00-8:00pm.
Mr. Gibson was born in Howard, GA, on July 29, 1927, to Bryan and Kate Land Gibson. Well known to everyone as “Fuzz,” he owned and operated a service station and wrecker business for many years in Buena Vista. He enjoyed riding around in his car, going to Mom’s Kitchen to eat and listening to gospel music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Hodge Gibson, and by a son, Jeffery B. Gibson.
He is survived by four children, Mike and Mary Gibson of Ivins, UT, Marsha and Pete Weber of Buena Vista, GA, Kent “Shorty” Gibson of Buena Vista, GA, and Dana and Bryan Crowden of Senoia, GA; by a daughter-in-law, Sherrie Gibson of Americus, GA; by two brothers, Bud Gibson and Gene Gibson, by a brother-in-law, Charles Hodge of Buena Vista, GA; by thirteen grandchildren, Susan McDonald, Kim Carter, Clayton Gibson, Mandy Hart, Brandon Gibson, Chris Weber, Brian Weber, Steven Gibson, Ivy Rose Tyree, Blake Hall, Mason Crowden, Benji Crowden, and Grace Bernath. Fifteen great-grandchildren also survive.
